Ok, so a year back, I decided I want to learn to network. My Dad's army buddy, who works with computers for some high up there place, said he put me on the right track. So, after 6 months of being a complete ass-tard, I finally got myself an old Pentium, 3. After that, he explained some things, got me started, and would throw tasks at me "Do such in such without doing this or that and tell me why and how it worked" After a few of these I gained very valuable experience, doing things the long way. And here I am.

So, my current task, is to copy the MS 98 installation disk, onto my partition, and install MS, without actually having the CD in drive.

Now, I’ve copied all the files to C: using "Copy C: *.*"

I go to check using the "Dir" command, and sure enough, all files are accounted for.

But....When I give the "Setup.exe" command, I get nothing, not even an error message, it just goes back to "C:/"

Any help would be loved. And if any more info is needed to get help, I will gladly cooperate.

Depends on the Windows 98 CD. Some won't let you do drive-based booting like that.

All text on disk are as follows.

"Do not make illegal copies of this disk
For distribution with a new pc only. For product support, contact the manufacturer of your PC.

Does any of that help?

Nope. I don't know how to tell which is which, because Windows 98 belongs in VMware if it belongs anywhere at all.
