"Eh...?" Kazumi winced as her shot flew off target. "I guess I need to calibrate this thing a little more." Reaching into her quiver, she pulled out another bolt and slid it into locking position on her contraption. She had only managed to make one of the four slots quick loading, but given that piece's rather risky construction, Kazumi wasn't willing to risk her life on giving the other three sections the same part, in fear of at least one blowing up in her face. She had gotten more than enough scars on her arms as it is, and she didn't need to spend another week getting the same contraption together.

"I can't stay here too long..." Kazumi aimed straight down the road towards the bandit, who was doubleteaming one of her teammates.

"Let's hope this one flies true, because I'm got to get to those houses!"

Melia ran straight, less than worried about her teammates. No, she didn't plan on bothering to go out of her way to take on any of the thugs. She figured fighting the leader would be the biggest challenge.

The vessel felt a strange sense of disorientation as he regarded the sight before him, as if it wasn't quite where he was supposed to be. He ignored the sounds of battle off to the side; instead, his dispassionate eyes locked on towards the bandit that was heading towards a house within eyeshot.

The vessel's lips moved in a silent order, and his guardian angled its wings towards a nearby copse of trees, whistling past the branches to land gently on the ground. Upon landing, the vessel's smile widened slightly before closing his eyes and inhaling deeply; as he exhaled, an outside breeze seemed to follow in its wake, carrying the spirit away with it.

Shuddering, Lacuno leaned against a tree, taking deep, shaking breaths, before managing to regain his composure. Jaw set with cool determination, the Autoknight flexed his talons and waited.

Kazumi gave a quick hurrah as her bolt toppled her foe, before sliding another bolt into place, moving quickly through the trees. The last foe would easily be taken care of by her lance wielding teammate... at least, that's what she believed.

'No opponent in sight...' Kazumi paused in her running, taking the time to wind back one of her other three bow parts of her contraption, ready to slide in a second bolt.

Melia continued running towards the boss, stopping momentarily to shout at her teammate. "Hey! Bird-boy! Try not to get axed, kay?" Smirking, she continued to run, charging towards the leader.

Lacuno stepped back, silver talons now stained with blood, though the shallow rent somewhere on the shoulder area of his jacket indicated that he did not escape unscathed. Smiling, he leisurely approached the wounded bandit, hardly sparing a glance at Melia's departing form as he did so.

"I would love to settle this some other time as there are more pressing matters," he drawled, monotone voice jarring against that lazy smile, "but you just happened to ruin my jacket. That just won't do." Talons gleamed red in the sunlight. "No; that just won't do at all."

Before the ruffian could react, Blue Storm struck.

Relieved that his attempt worked Cody then proceeded to attack the bandit again.

Lacuno looked down at the dead bandit, smiling as he appraised the huge rent across the man's torso that basically rent him in half, before looking at the face, and the terror frozen on it in rigor mortis. "An eye for an eye," the Autoknight drawled. "A tooth for a tooth. An ear for an ear...and you tried for the whole carcass."

He paused, regarding the bandit's features. "It'd be impolite of me to leave without giving proper regards, though," he said blandly. "You simply had bad luck, and I really can't begrudge a man his bad luck. Maybe I'll ask that house over there"--he demonstrated with a jerk of his thumb--"for a shovel or something." A grin flashed on his face, showing teeth. "After all, everyone deserves a nice burial."

With a short laugh, Lacuno kicked the severed head out of the way and approached the house, humming to himself.

Melia could see the bandit leader. She grinned and ran at him, launching a kick at the last moment. Though the girl was probably a bit smaller than the bandit, she was quite confident she could take him.

Move to 2-9, attack

Moving through the trees, Kazumi kept her eyes on her Crossbow Contraption, making sure the second bolt is secure before beginning winding back the third section for loading a third.

'I don't know how many bandits are left.' Kazumi thought. 'But this will be quite a blow if it hits the next one!'
